We are looking for a Software Developer (m/f/d) for the Publication Platforms department. The position is part of a work contract for an initial period of nine months with the prospect of an extension.
The “Open Science” program area develops and operates services in the field of open access and research data. These include PUBLISSO and German Medical Science, open access portals for the publication of online journals, conferences, research reports and books from the entire field of medicine and the life sciences, which are aimed at all those who work on and with scientific publications.
Your future responsibility:
In close collaboration with a central office, you will independently take on tasks such as:
- (Further) development of our Drupal-based publication platform PUBLISSO, among other things as part of the cooperation project with the German Academy of Naturforscher Leopoldina e. V. - National Academy of Sciences
- Support in the maintenance of CI/CD processes
- Support with the import and export of large data packages to and from the PUBLISSO platform
Your professional qualifications and personal skills:
- Completed university degree in computer science or comparable qualification with in-depth knowledge of web development (ideally Drupal)
- Solid programming knowledge of web technologies (PHP and JavaScript)
- Confident handling of version management software (git)
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernets, Ansible)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and XML
- Ideally initial experience with XSL transformations
- Diligence and accuracy at work
- Communication skills, ability to work in a team and independently
- Good knowledge of English
- Reliability and commitment
- Enjoy learning new technologies
