NLM SERVICE
ZB MED can order copies of articles from the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) in Bethesda, MD, USA. This service is only available to German libraries, however.
If you would like to take advantage of this service, please send an e-mail to fernleihe@zbmed.de with the following content:
- Subject: NLM service
- Bibliographic details
- Confirmation that you agree to pay the fees which are currently 2 IFLA VOUCHERS or € 16 on receipt of invoice.
Oders that include an article together with supplementary material are handled in the same way as multiple orders, i.e. each item is treated as a seperate order. In these cases charges apply for each individual order.
Before we place the order with the NLM, we will check that the item is not available in our stock.
When the items are delivered, we will check they are complete and of acceptable quality and then send them within a few days by post to the library that placed the order.
No charge will be made for documents that we are unable to acquire. We will inform you by email if this is the case.
AGLINET SERVICE
ZB MED is a member of the international Agricultural Libraries Network AGLINET, a worldwide volunteer network of libraries that specialise in agriculture. The ZB MED is responsible for the fields of nutrition and environmental and agricultural sciences.
AGLINET libraries have signed an agreement stating that they will assist each other in acquiring literature that is not available in their own country.
To order publications on agriculture-related topics that are not available through your national inter-library loan system, please contact the closest library to you which is an AGLINET member (list of AGLINET members). This library will then contact an AGLINET library from the country in which the item was published and will do its best to get hold of the item you need.
Delivery times vary significantly depending on the country, processing time and type of delivery, so we cannot offer any useful estimate here. Fees are set by the library that supplies the item, but normally you are not required to pay for this service yourself.
