We are looking for student/scientific assistants (m/f/d) to join the Semantic Technologies team of the BibLabs program area in Cologne as soon as possible and contribute to research and development activities, an opportunity to improve skills in data analytics and scientific work. The position is limited to a 12-month period, 10 hours a week, with the option to be extended.
Your future responsibility:
- Improving metadata descriptions and annotations of machine learning models
- Analysis and application of the intersection between ontologies and GPT LLMs
- Improving metadata coverage for research artifacts based on the schema.org vocabulary and community-based extensions
- Analyzing and extending metadata capabilities in Dataverse Active participation in project, team and institutional meetings
Your professional qualifications and personal skills:
- You should be enrolled in a master or bachelor degree program in computer science, informatics, bioinformatics or similar areas
- Enjoy bringing ideas to the table and easily adapt to evolving requirements
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Very good spoken and written English skills
- Good knowledge of Python
- Some experience with controlled vocabularies, GPT LLMs, and/or Knowledge Graphs would be an advantage
- Valid work permit
