On November 25 - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - worldwide Orange Days will start again this year. Under the motto "Orange the globe - end violence against women", organizations and women's rights movements, institutions and municipalities will set an example against violence against women. For 16 days - until December 10, Human Rights Day - buildings around the world will be lit in orange: on the one hand to raise awareness, and on the other to take action to end violence against women and girls. ZB MED is also participating in Orange Days, virtually bathing its building in Cologne in orange light on its website and social media channels.

As a bright and optimistic color, orange stands for a future free of violence against women and girls, who continue to be exposed to physical, psychological and sexualized violence. In Germany alone, according to evaluations by the Federal Criminal Police Office, one in three women is affected by physical and/or sexualized violence at least once in her life. About one in four women is a victim of physical or sexual violence by her current or former partner at least once. Women from all social classes are affected.
