New 'Publish & Read' consortium with the Microbiology Society

Agreement enables Open Access publishing for German research institutions.

From 2025, around 400 member institutions and 2,000 hospitals in Germany will be able to participate in the consortium. Participation will enable unlimited Open Access publishing without article processing charges (APCs), including in the OA journals Access Microbiology, Microbiology and Microbial Genomics. The agreement also includes full access to the Society's archive, which dates back to 1947. The initiative aims to provide German microbiologists with easier access to high-quality, cost-effective scientific publications. 

The Microbiology Society is one of the largest microbiological societies in Europe. The 'Publish and Read' agreement negotiated by ZB MED will run for three years.
