DFG funds national service centre for Diamond Open Access
The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved the establishment of a national service centre for Diamond Open Access. The project submitted by the SeDOA consortium is now starting work. It will initially be funded for three years.
The service centre will support researchers and institutions in the establishment and further development of Diamond Open Access publication infrastructures. The planned tasks include
- Needs analyses
- Provision of information material, guidelines and guides
- Organisation of workshops and training courses
- Providing legal advice and preparing legal opinions on a case-by-case basis,
- extensive national and international networking and communication work,
- Identification and consideration of disciplinary specialities via professional associations, among others,
- Creating a better data basis by establishing a registry,
- Dynamisation of Diamond Open Access through innovative concepts and approaches in a SeDOA Innovation Lab (SIL).
Tasks of ZB MED
In the project, ZB MED coordinates the exchange of information and results in the field of life sciences and ensures integration into international initiatives. ZB MED plays a leading role in setting up a publication hub that provides publishers and authors with customised publication infrastructures from the ranks of the cooperation partners.
