Invitation: LIVIVO-Workshop - online December 7, 2021
LIVIVO is the interdisciplinary search engine for literature and information on the life sciences. The virtual hands-on workshop provides knowledge about functionalities, services and features of the search portal. The aim is to give an overview of the LIVIVO user interface. Participants will be given the skills to use the search portal optimally for their needs. The workshop is aimed on the one hand at employees of academic and public libraries, and on the other at researchers and students from all disciplines of the life sciences.
Contents:
Introduction to
- efficient handling of search queries in LIVIVO using Boolean operators and search filters
- the interdisciplinary literature search through different database sources in LIVIVO
- the ECB's integrated traffic light system in LIVIVO
- LIVIVO services and features, such as the e-mail search agent or the RSS feed.
No previous knowledge is required.

Learning objectives:
At the end of the workshop
- have a better understanding of the functionalities of LIVIVO (e.g. search queries, ECB traffic light system)
- have a better understanding of the services LIVIVO offers (data sources, search agents, RSS feed)
- have a better understanding of semantic search technology
- have been introduced to live typing as a new learning method and have exchanged ideas with colleagues.
Tools/Technology:
- The workshop will take place via Zoom. You will need an internet-enabled device (PC or laptop with Windows or Linux; Mac) with webcam and headset or other audio system. Ideally, you will have two screens connected to your end device.
