Data and Software management plans can be presented as text-based documents. Sometimes they are guided by a set of questions corresponding to key points related to the lifecycle of either data or software. The RDA DMP Common Standards Working Group of the Research Data Alliance (RDA) defined machine-actionable Data Management Plans to overcome limitations of text-based documents. The project of ZB MED has strong links with RDA working groups. In addition to being guided by FAIR4RS, the principles of the FAIR for Research Software Working Group, the project expanded the DMP Common Standards Working Group recommendations to software.
Although targeting the life sciences community, most of the elements of the Software Management Plans are domain agnostic and could be used by other communities as well.
The project is now part of NFDI4DataScience.
