An RNA-Seq analysis pipeline
READemption is a software tool for analysing data from RNA sequencing experiments. Starting from the reads – i.e. the millions of RNA sequences generated by automated sequencers – READemption can be used to perform all the essential data analysis steps that are typically required for an RNA-Seq experiment, including:
- quality filtering
- mapping reads
- quantifying mapped reads for each gene
- creating coverage files to visualise mapped reads in a genome browser
- performing differential gene expression analyses.
READemption can generate graphical visualisations of the individual steps to make it easier for users to explore the data. These plots and graphs can also be incorporated in publications to clearly illustrate the results of individual steps.
ZB MED’s role in the project
ZB MED improved READemption continuously to reflect the latest developments in RNA sequencing. The latest innovations were aimed at being able to automatically process data from dual or multi-RNA sequencing experiments. ZB MED also provides user support on READemption’s GitHub issue page.
