Shortinfo

On behalf of the European Association for Haematopathology (EAHP) and the Society for Hematopathology (SH), it is my great pleasure as chair of the local organizing committee to invite you to Basel, Switzerland, to attend the 18th Meeting of the EAHP, which will be held from September 3–8, 2016. The meeting venue will be the Congress Center Basel (CCB), which provides state of the art technology and infrastructure. The congress venue is located at the heart of the city surrounded by numerous excellent hotels.

An exciting and interdisciplinary scientific program is being currently delineated by the scientific committee. The program will offer a well-balanced mixture of scientific and practical issues of the topics to be covered. The general outline of the meeting will follow the traditional – and very successful – format. It will start with the educational session, followed by the Bone Marrow and Lymphoma symposia and workshops. The scientific program will include “Meet the Professor” sessions, a highlight of the last two meetings, satellite symposia and poster presentation and discussion. The faculty will include internationally renowned speakers that will address the most recent issues and controversies in the field of hematopathology. I am convinced that this meeting will be an outstanding event, both professionally and socially.

CME – Continuing Medical Education will be provided.

The local organizing committee is preparing for all delegates an exciting Basel social program that promises to be a unique experience for all visitors of this beautiful Swiss city. September is usually a great time of the year in Basel, the “cultural capital” of Switzerland with a lovely old historic center. Social events and tours both before and after the congress will be organized to suit all sightseers.

Updates on the congress will be regularly provided on the homepage.

See you in Basel 2016!

Stephan Dirnhofer, MD

Chair, Local Organizing Committee
