Artificial intelligence (AI) has enormous potential for transforming cancer diagnostics and enhancing clinical decision-making. The current state-of-the-art of AI systems and the challenges facing their routine implementation will be addressed including methodological aspects, incorporation into clinical workflows with particular reference to the role of blockchain technology, utilisation of AI for screening in population studies and for risk prediction. In addition, the exploitation of AI for data-driven processes such as radiomics and digital pathology will be discussed. An interactive session will highlight and explore the ethical dilemmas surrounding the use of AI in diagnostics.
