"This conference is being organised against a background of change for the crop protection industry, as well as for European agriculture. With two major pieces of legislation on crop protection agreed last year, 2010 is therefore the start of the implementation process, and requires all players to co-operate in that development. At the same time, discussions are on-going about the future direction of the Common Agricultural Policy linked to the EUs budget post 2013 but also taking into account the need for an agricultural policy that delivers high quality food for a growing global population."
