EUROGIN - International Multidisciplinary HPV Congress

Location
Düsseldorf
Country
Germany
Subject area(s)
Shortinfo

After many months of social distancing and virtual meetings we will have the opportunity to meet in person, share ideas, have an open and vigorous scientific dialogue, and meet friends and colleagues from around the world at the upcoming EUROGIN meeting, taking place in Dusseldorf on April 10-13, 2022. The ambitious goal of Eliminating Cervical Cancer Globally remains a major focus, as does expanding these efforts to all cancers caused by HPV among women and men. As a community we will need to recover from the losses in cervical cancer screening and treatment and HPV vaccination rates that we witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and quickly develop and implement an aggressive plan to forge forward to achieve this goal. Research is needed more than ever to develop cost-effective methods to increase screening, optimize screening protocols, and develop simple treatment strategies that are practical for all communities to implement, regardless of economic status.

As co-presidents, we look forward to EUROGIN 2022 as the meeting where we propel all of our efforts and recharge our collective urge to see a world in the not-too-distant future where cervical and other HPV-related cancers no longer exist.

A. Giuliano (USA) & P. Hillemanns (Germany), Congress Presidents
