Building on the success of last year, SMi proudly presents its 3rd annual Superbugs And Superdrugs USA conference, taking place in New Jersey, USA in November 12th And 13th, 2018.

This year's event is set to address the issue of antibacterial resistance, which is becoming increasingly prevalent in the world of modern medicine. Difficult-to-treat pathogens creating issues within clinical environments need to be addressed with novel treatments and the development of mechanisms which circumvent current therapeutic barriers.

To address the ever-growing need of informative and thought-provoking discussion, Superbugs And Superdrugs USA conference will offer a jam-packed agenda with presentations from key industry leaders and up-and-coming thinkers within the field, as well as the opportunity to network with decision makers from the industry - from research, to commercial providers and regulatory bodies.

2018 Event Highlights:

- Learn about pathogen-focused drug development

- Discover the best methods to overcome bacterial resistance though novel modes of action

- Discuss the state of developments within the anti-fungal space

- Develop an understanding of funding opportunities which support antibacterial research

- Gain insight into new techniques through case-study examples of rapid diagnostic methods currently being used

In addition, two interactive half-day workshops will be running on 14th November:

Workshop A: "Rapid diagnostics for drug resistance: Are we there yet?", led by David Perlin, Executive Director And Professor, Public Health Research Institute, Rutgers University.

Workshop B: "Avoiding the post antibiotic era: the challenges and solutions to successful commercialisation of new antibiotics", hosted by Adam Woodrow, CCO, Parateck, and David Findlay, Managing Director, Morton Findlay and Associates Ltd.
