Renal denervation is a novel catheter-based technique to treat severe resistant arterial hypertension. The afferent and efferent renal nerves are interrupted via an endovascular approach. It has been shown to cause a pronounced blood pressure reduction. In addition, recent data suggest potentially beneficial effects in a number of conditions characterized by sympathetic overactivity including diabetes mellitus, obstructive sleep apnea, atrial fibrillation, malignant ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure. In this one-day workshop you will learn everything you need to know about this new and exciting therapy.
