Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to Munich in June 2010 to participate in the joint congress of the ERA-EDTA and the German Society of Nephrology. The societies will join forces to produce a meeting of outstanding scientific quality combined with an extremely rich cultural experience.
As a focal point between East and West and North and South, Munich is situated in the centre of Europe and can be reached in the shortest possible time thanks to the excellent infrastructure. Germany’s second-biggest airport guarantees excellent continental and intercontinental air connections. The venue of the meeting, the Internationales Congress Center München (ICM), is a modern convention centre that provides state-of-the art facilities for a large congress but at the same time you can reach the city centre within 15 minutes, with the U rail system.
The Scientific Committee is already working in order to ensure a wide choice of lectures and symposia covering the various aspects of basic and clinical Nephrology as well as the most recent researches in the field. Special attention will be given to young researchers and nephrologists and to late breaking clinical trials. CME sessions will be offered just before the official opening of the congress and an extraordinary number of travel grants for young nephrologists will be available.
Munich is one of the most vibrant and modern German cities, with the charm of the Bavarian culture and an outstanding number of castles, breathtaking churches and museums. Visit the baroque Nymphenburg palace, the English Garden and have a large Bavarian beerstein at the famous Hofbräuhaus.
Munich is just a few steps away from some of the most wonderful castles and romantic churches (Pfaffenwinkel) from the late Bavarian king Maximilian II.
Your way may take you South to Oberammergau passing the Ettal monastery while heading towards Castle Linderhof and the world famous Schloss Neu-Schwanstein. From there the Romantische Strasse can take you to the Frankfurt airport on your way to your home destination.
