This course is aimed at attendees from the Middle East, in particular
last year residents, general radiologists and general practitioners. The course will offer the opportunity to share scientific knowledge and stress the most recent diagnostic imaging options available as well as their central role in the assessment of common oncologic diseases.
Learning objectives
• to review diagnostic imaging strategies of common oncologic scenarios
• to appreciate recent advances in diagnostic imaging of malignancies
• to identify the role of CT, MRI or PET/CT for detection,
characterization, staging and follow-up in selected malignant tumours of the CNS, neck, upper abdomen, GI tract and pelvis
• to explain protocols and techniques for acquiring a comprehensive oncologic imaging examination
• to apply interpretation methods and to recognize diagnostic pitfalls in cross-sectional oncologic imaging
