Acute catheter based stroke interventions have been proven to be superior to systemic lysis in a number of randomized trials. With a number needed to treat (NNT) of only 2, acute stroke interventions are extremely efficient. Up to 20% of acute strokes can and should be treated with catheter techniques, but there are not enough interventionists capable of performing these procedures outside of large stroke centers. We want to change this by educating interventionists from different specialties about catheter-based stroke interventions.

ICCA Stroke is a two-day interdisciplinary and interactive course with the lectures from leading experts in the field, live and recorded cases, step by step presentations, debates and hands-on simulator workshops. You will be guided through the different aspects of stroke treatment and carotid stenting: patient selection, imaging, indication, how to do it, post-procedural care as well as avoiding and managing complications.
