Atrial fibrillation is one of the leading causes of stroke. Recently published data have shown that left atrial appendage closure is superior to anticoagulation with warfarin for stroke prevention and even mortality. Available techniques and devices are under constant development and several novel concepts are undergoing clinical trials.
This year's LAA focus workshop is designed to give you an overview on all aspects of left atrial appendage closure, from its background to current clinical data and new devices. Renowned experts and distinguished faculties from around the world will share their expertise and experiences. Through plenary lectures, live demonstrations and discussions, we are confident this novel workshop will provide an excellent platform for interventionalists, electrophysiologists and physicians worldwide to exchange professional knowledge, skills and insights. Moreover, physicians are able to have hands-on experiences in both established and emerging LAA occluding devices at the Animal Workshop and to learn from the experts the interventional skills.
