Managing the data landscape: A case for data stewardship

Data stewardship is about making research data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR), and is an important ingredient for open science.

Today’s research is becoming more complex and increasingly data-driven. FAIR data stewardship encompasses a range of tasks and responsibilities on the handling of research data. Many actors are involved, with specific skills, tasks and roles. Often, these can no longer be found in one or a few people. This raises the question: What are the needs and responsibilities of researchers, and who is supposed to do the work?

This interactive workshop aims to bring together various perspectives, from (young) researchers, data stewards, information professionals to those from an institutional point of view to learn about the needs, experiences in working together with a diverse group of stakeholders, as well as good practices.  It aims to consider  current data stewardship models through the lens of real world situations.
