Scholarship for participation in the Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention 2025 for Dr Eva Seidlmayer
The Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention 2025 - WikiLibCon25 for short - brings together experts from the fields of Wikimedia, libraries and information. This year's conference will focus on the role of librarians and information specialists in the fight against disinformation. The Wikimedia platforms are valuable knowledge repositories that are part of everyday life for many people around the world. The conference aims to improve networking with library staff and the integration of Wikimedia platforms into library services - especially in the fight against and clarification of disinformation.
Dr Eva Seidlmayer is deputy head of the Data Science and Services programme area. In her AQUAS project, she is working on the automated detection of disinformation in the life sciences. She will use the conference visit to make contacts and gain impetus for the further development of her work. Eva Seidlmayer has been involved with Wikimedia for some time. In 2019/20, she was one of the fellows of the Wikimedia Fellow Programme Free Knowledge.
The scholarship for WikiLibCon25 is awarded by the Wikimedia Foundation. It covers all costs associated with attending the conference.
