You can search the holdings of our Bonn site through LIVIVO or using the catalogue of Bonn University Library.

Book stocks

Most of our book stocks can be taken out on loan straight away. Books acquired since 1991 are located in the open stacks on the first basement level which is open to all users. Books acquired prior to 1991 can be ordered from the closed stacks. Some items can be ordered through the catalogue, but others require you to fill out a charge slip in person at the library.

Reference works

Reference works and similar items are shelved by subject area in the reference stacks located in the main reading room on the second floor. These items cannot be taken out on loan.

Journals

Journals are generally not available for borrowing. All issues dating from the year 2000 onwards are located in the journal reading room, while issues from the period between 1980 and 1999 are located in the open stacks on the first basement level. Journal issues acquired prior to 1980 can be ordered from the closed stacks. Again, some of these can be ordered through the catalogue, while others will require you to fill out a charge slip at the library.

"Non-book materials"

"Non-book materials" such as DVDs, floppy disks, slides etc. are also kept in the closed stacks.

The library offers facilities for making copies and for scanning and printing documents.
